DETAILS YOU NEED TO KNOW:
Arrival Time: Please ensure you arrive at the venue at least one hour before the event begins. On arrival please sign in with the front desk so we can make sure you get your turn. You will also need to tell us what requirements you have for your performance (see below). You will be told when the competition is about to start.
Backing tracks/equipment:
You will need to supply your own instrument(s) where required, or a backing track on a CD. Please bring these with you to the event. It is advised where possible to bring 2 copies of backing tracks in case of any play-back problems. Microphones/jack inputs will be provided for those with instruments. Please remember to tell the front desk when you sign in what you need.
Your Act:
Each act will have 3 – 5 minutes to perform one song. What you perform is entirely up to you. It could be a cover of your favourite song or an original composition performed over a backing track. It could be a song sung a Capella or with a guitar accompaniment, or an instrumental solo on trombone or didgeridoo. Whatever you like! Acts will be evaluated on a number of factors, including overall performance, crowd response and originality. There are only a few rules to follow, which are listed below.
The Winners:
The winners will be announced at the end of the competition and prizes given out. The winners names will also be published on the website. Entrants unable to collect their prizes on the day will be contacted by Champion Sound to arrange pick up. The judges decision is final.
