Reggae Music

Reggae music was borne in Jamaica in the 1960’s. It gave poor people in Jamaica a voice and something to call their own, celebrate the joys of life on their tropical island and spread ‘One Love’ throughout the world.

From Bob Marley and the Wailers singing songs of hope and freedom, reggae music has traditionally represented disadvantaged and underprivileged people, colloquially known as “sufferers”, with conscious lyrics and bands that spoke the word of the people.

The influence of reggae has captured fans worldwide and reggae is now an established music genre and a real influence internationally.
