"Champion Sound understand “community” and how to engage young people through music activities. I have seen their organisation develop people from raw talent through to professional outcomes. They are committed to making a difference in communities and people’s lives, and adaptable to all cultures and a range of new music genres. They are an awesome group of people; to work with, always professional themselves and keen to support young people step through their creative experiences and platforms."
Project report, Aurukun, Cape York, 2009
"Champion Sound had, in a very short timeframe, established an excellent rapport with locals of all ages and genders, in particular children under 12 years. Given the positive response from within the community, it may be possible to utilize the skills of ‘Champion Sound’ in promoting hygiene, school attendance, domestic violence themes, and other critical messages designed to enhance quality of life of the people of Aurukun. A further visit by ‘Champion Sound’ to Aurukun would be supported."
Dale Treanor, Program Manager, Kids Living Safer Lives
"AFL Cape York is the auspicing body for the Kids Living Safer Lives holiday program which delivers diversionary activities and programs in a number of remote Cape York communities. Part of the thrust is to engage with kids and to encourage them to reject violence and anti-social behaviour and to strive to acquire positive lifeskills through education, training and awareness of opportunities. In order to do this, we seek out facilitators who share this vision, provide positive role models and are able to get these important messages across through their programs.
Champion Sound was referred to us as a group suited for the task. We have since used them on many occasions and continue to use their services in the KLSL holiday program as they consistently satisfy our expectations and those of the communities they engage with."
