Sunny Dread is Champion Sound’s MC and an artist in his own right.

Originally from South Africa, Sunny Dread has traveled many parts of Australia sharing his unique blend of reggae, hip hop and R ‘n’ B.

Sunny has performed in venues from Cairns, where he was crowned Backpackers All Time Champion, to Sydney via Bathurst, where he launched his self funded EP, Never Stop Singing. He has collaborated with groups such as US based hip hop crew Sub Zero Collective and Northern NSW’s Creative Peoples Collective Inc, and has performed twice on Australian Idol where he was dubbed “most memorable Australian idol”.

Sunny has worked variously with Brisbane’s Rudekat Sound System, popular Brisbane band The Dynamic Thrills and numerous DJs and MCs and is a well known figure in the Brisbane reggae scene.
