Simon ‘Fyah’ Jerrams was born in Melbourne. After a friend introduced him to artists and bands like Bob Marley, Peter Tosh and Black Uhuru, Simon developed a deep interest in reggae music.
He spent many years singing along to the records and CDs he bought, and developed an understanding of the music, its culture and history. In time Simon began to write his own songs to sing for his own expression and release, finding a way to connect with himself spiritually.
After moving from Melbourne to Byron Bay, Simon formed the band Fyah Walk. Always skeptical about reggae that came out of Australia, and having a very high standard of expectation, Simon has worked hard to maintain an authentic and real reggae sound.
Now hailed as one of Australia’s most powerful reggae vocalists, Simon Fyah and Fyah Walk have fresh appeal with younger generations for their amazing and progressive creations.
